Shoplifter faces jail

A PORTLAOISE woman has been warned that if she shoplifts again she will go to prison.

Amy O’Shea, of 61 O’Moore Place, Portlaoise, faced three charges of theft from Portlaoise stores in June of this year.

Defence, Ms Josephine Fitzpatrick, said that there had been “a particular influence” in O’Shea’s life at the time, but that influence is now gone.

Judge Staines imposed a three-month sentence, suspended for 12 months, and warned O’Shea: “If you get involved in shoplifting again you’ll go to prison.”
