Vandals hit Mountmellick homes

Six of the 10 houses in the Silverbrook Estate were idle and vandalised, Cllr Bobby Delaney told a Mountmellick Joint Policing Committee meeting last Thursday evening.

Front doors had been kicked in and youngsters were congregating there, he said. He urged Garda action.

Chairman Cllr Pat Bowe: “There have been ongoing discussions with the developer. The bond is not sufficient for repairs. I will get back to you on it.”

Cllr Stephen Lynch: “I can see a fierce accident there.”
