Work at Nolan’s cross

LAOIS County Council hopes to remove and replace the grassy verge at Nolan’s cross, Portarlington with a hard core surface next year.

Cathaoirleach Paul Mitchell noted that the verge had been cut and was a lot safer, but he added that visibility was still inhibited and a permanent solution was needed.

Senior Executive Engineer Orla Barrett outlined, “Options for the removal of the grass verge and replacement of the verge with weed suppressing material and fill material will be priced and included under discretionary works for 2013 where feasible.”
