This is a great achievement for any team in a league campaign and well done to all concerned the management the players and the parents for having them at training and at matches every week since September.
Portlaoise started this game in good form and created a few chances in the first 15 minutes but Joe Nevin and Brian Sheehy were wide with long range efforts.

Portlaoise hit back on 30 minutes when Oran Murphy was put through by a brilliant Aaron Wright pass and he was taken down by the Killavilla defender in the box. Murphy then dispatched the penalty to make it 1-0 and this is how it finished at the break.

Killavilla then started the second half in fine style and went close on 40 minutes before scoring on 45 minutes when their center forward fired a shot into the top corner after being set up with a fine through pass to make it 1-1.

They then went close to taking the lead but good defending by Niall Doran and Ciaran Rowney and Craig Reddin kept the scores level going into the last 10 minutes.
Portlaoise the went ahead on 65 minutes when Ross Brennan was taken down by the Killavilla keeper when he was clean through on goals and the referee awarded the penalty. Up stepped Kaelyn Thompson to take the penalty but his shot hit the crossbar and he headed the rebound into the net to make it 2-1 to the Town and it preserved their 100% record in the league campaign this season as the final whistle went 5 minutes later.
