Congratulations are in order once again for Celtic Dragons Kickboxing Club who put forward three fighters for the Irish Kickboxing Championships, which resulted in the new U-8 Girls National Champion Casey O’Neill winning gold and U-13 fighter Jack Wiseley taking silver.

This yearly national event is held under the sanctioning of the International Kickboxing Federation in various venues around the country. Kilkenny Top Pro were this year’s hosts and the competition was tough with many top kickboxing clubs from Ireland attending on the day.

U-8 fighter Casey O’Neill had two tough bouts to earn first place and become the new U-8 National Irish Champion. Jack Wiseley took silver after two hard fights against two brilliant opponents – one of which was Niall Carroll of Combat Kickboxing in Kildare.

Niall currently holds four world titles and three Irish titles. This final fight went the full distance of 3 rounds with a great display of skill and sportsmanship between both fighters. U-14 warrior Daniel Williams fought very well against his opponent.

Celtic Dragons Head Coach Tommy Delaney and committee are very proud of all fighters and would like to congratulate them on their achievements. Tommy said “All fighters trained very hard over the Summer which proves that hard work pays off”.
