The Laois Ladies footballers will play Cork in the All Ireland semi-final in Cashel this Saturday evening after the Rebels performed a miracle escape against Dublin last weekend in their quarter-final.
With 16 minutes left, Dublin led by 3-10 to 2-7, but seven unanswered points from Cork saw them over the line to reach the last four.
It was a fightback Laois would have been proud of as Cork effectively laid siege to the Dublin goal not allowing their opponents any space to break up the field.
Laois manager Joe Higgins was no doubt a very interested observer as his side ramped up their preparations for the semi-final.
Against Monaghan in their quarter-final, Laois got off to worst possible start conceding two early goals but they fought back to eventually win the game in extra-time.
They will know that they cannot afford another slow start this Saturday against the defending All Ireland Champions.
The sides also met in a hugely entertaining League Final this year where Cork came out on top.
Laois are a very talented and dynamic side who are strong in every department. Their team spirit is superb and they have every chance of toppling Cork.
The Rebels have won five of the last seven All Ireland’s and are the defending champions but Laois will not fear them one bit and if they play to the best of their abilities, they will find themselves on the road to Croke Park for the All Ireland Final
