The annual Swan Field Day takes place this weekend to help raise funds for vital local facilities.

Organised jointly by the Swan Development Committee and Wolfhill Athletic FC, the event takes place this week on Sunday 28 August.

We need help to run the following: paintballing, pony rides, big buzzer, spin the wheel, catch the egg, guess the weight of the sheep, pony and trap rides, lucky dip, golf challenge, mouse races, pony drop and much more.

There will be something for everyone to enjoy.

The organisers are looking for musical acts, and now is an opportunity to showcase your talent.

Refreshments on the day and raffle and entertainment in the Swan Inn that night. Please contact John at 087-9027560, or any committee member.

The organisers hope all local people will support this event as the money raised goes directly towards the maintenance of the Swan Community Hall and the village’s sports facilities.

“It is in the interests of everyone in the village to lend a hand and assist in making the day a success. It is your community and this is the only opportunity we have to make a concerted effort to raise money for local amenities, by collectively putting our shoulder to the wheel and helping both on the day itself and beforehand.

“In an era dominated by technology, it is imperative that our children have safe and well-maintained outdoor facilities to use for their enjoyment, and you can help to ensure this by assisting at and supporting the field day,” say the organisers.
