Students, staff and parents from Portlaoise College are putting on their dancing shoes and sequins to try to raise enough money to buy a full sized school bus.
The college is holding its first every Strictly Dancing, on Friday October 28, and it promises to be a night of hidden talents and lots of laughs.
Fourteen couples have been working hard on their dance moves in rehearsals since school started back, helped by professional choreographers.
A taste of what to expect will be on hand at the official launch, this Monday night October 10 at 8pm in the school.
“We hope to see as many people as possible there. There will be food, entertainment and a raffle on launch night. All are invited,” said Louise Dent, chairperson of the Parents Council, which is organising the event.
Tickets for the main event are for sale from Portlaoise College at €20.
