Death

The death has taken place (after a brief illness) of Mrs. Ann Walsh (nee Healy), widow of the late Paddy Walsh of Lowhill, Ballinakill, Co. Laois. Ann having attained the age of 89 years was very active up to the end. She was a very kind and pleasant individual who was popular with neighbours and well known for her hospitality to all who visited her.

Removal took place last Tuesday (19th November) from Cody’s Funeral Home, Castlecomer to the Church of the Assumption, Ballyouskill. Requiem mass was celebrated the following day with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Deepest sympathy is extended to her brother John and sister Kitty, nephews, nieces relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

25 Progressive Card Games

There were six tables at the 25 Progressive Cards game on Friday, 15th November last. The winners were John Mooney and Jim Walsh (10 games); Paddy Dunphy and Larry Mahony (9 games); Tony Walsh and Paddy Walsh (9 games); Johnny and Mrs. Dalton (9 games).

Heywood Community School

Heywood Community School will hold an open night for prospective first year students and their parents on Thursday, 29th November 2013 from 7pm - 9pm. All prospective parents and students are welcome to come along on the night to view the school and its facilities.
