PARISH ADVENT REACH OUT INITIATIVE

PARISH ADVENT REACH OUT INITIATIVE

Our parish in conjunction with St Vincent de Paul have recently set up ‘St Clare’s Hospitality’ to help members of our community who are suffering due to the recession. We are in the process of setting up a kitchen where people can come to get hot meals. In the meantime we are giving out food parcels each Wednesday and for the past few weeks we have given out over 70 parcels a week. Each parcel contains non-perishable items. During the four weekends of Advent we will place collection baskets in St Clare’s and Holy Cross. As a way of making the Advent season more meaningful we encourage everyone to reach out to those in need by placing non-perishable food items in the baskets and these will be used to help make up our food parcels.
