ELECTRIC PICNIC AGM
The AGM of the Electric Picnic Residents Committee for this year’s event will be held in St Mary’s Hall on Tuesday, February 11 commencing at 7.30pm sharp. All are welcome to air their views on the night.
THE LATE ROSE KILMARTIN
The death occurred on Sunday, January 26 of Rose Kilmartin, Coolfin, The Glebe, Kilcormac, Offaly and formerly of Stradbally. Rose was a former public health nurse in Stradbally for a long number of years to which she carried out her duties with the utmost efficiency.
Her remains were reposing in the house of her nephew Michael, Coolfinn, The Glebe until removal to the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Kilcormac and following funeral mass on Wednesday, burial took place afterwards in St Joseph’s Cemetery, Kilcormac.
FLOWER AND GARDEN CLUB
Stradbally Flower and Garden Club’s first meeting of the new year will be held on this Wednesday, February 5 in St Joseph’s Hall at 8pm. Pamela Curtin (Millner) will attend and give a talk and demonstration on hats and fasinators. Come along on Wednesday 5 for an enjoyable night and be prepared for that special occasion this summer.
Next whist drive will be held on Friday, February 21 commencing at 8.30pm.

MARKET HOUSE TRESTLE TABLE
The Market House Restoration Committee are looking for any old photographs or cine film of the Market House which show the trestle table or any information relating to it as it was before the table was taken down.
Any relevant material can be loaned to James Deegan 086 2428655, Paddy Nolan 086 8892306 or to any member of the committee and it will be returned to them when copies are made with the permission of the owner.

VICARSTOWN ACTIVE RETIREMENT AGM
The Vicarstown Active Retirement will hold their AGM on Wednesday, February 12 at 8pm in the Old Community Centre. Caroline Carroll will be guest speaker.
She will talk about yoga exercise with a view to starting classes in the next fee weeks.
SCOR NA NOG QUIZ
A reminder that the Scor na nOg Quiz is now fixed for the evening of Friday, February 21 in St Pauls School, Borris Road, Portlaoise.
Registration for teams is at 6pm, the quiz will start at 6.30pm sharp.
This Tuesday afternoon froom 2pm to 5pm an is electrical recycling day in Timahoe in St Michael’s Church car park accepting anything household with a plug or battery, TVs, aerials, microwaves, IT equipment, dishwashers, fridges and freezers, power tools, battery operated toys, kettles and toasters. LAOIS GAA MEMBERS DRAW
Tickets now on sale for the 2014 Laois GAA club members draw and your support for the Stradbally GAA Club would be greatly appreciated.
There are four draws beginning on March 1 and the first prize is €10,000 in each draw. Tickes are €130 and can be purchased from any member of the committee.
