Ballinakill swimming pool will reopen on July 6, with an opening day party from 1pm. All are welcome to come along. Times are yet to be confirmed and people can check the Ballinakill Facebook page to keep updated on swimming times.

Vincent de Paul Shop
This new shop is now open in Abbeyleix in Moynans. People are invited to donate clothes, furniture, books, music (CDs/DVDs), toys and games in good condition. All items sold in the shop will be to help individuals and families in the local community, your help will be most welcome.
Concern has been expressed about the level of dog fouling in the village, particularly around the churches and school. People are asked to clean up after their animals as it is a legal requirement to do so. Don’t forget your pooper scooper.
Vita is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its founding by Fr Kevin Doheny on Sunday July 13 with mass at 3pm in the Doheny Homested, Ballinalacken, Ballinakill.
Crossroads Youth Club

Get into walking workshop as part of the Laois Walks Festival takes place on at the community hall in Ballinakill on Friday, July 25 at 6.30pm. Contact Ann 087 7749281. The workshop will be followed by a 5km family walk starting at the Square by Masslough and through Heywood Estate. Starts 7.30pm. There are walks in Spink and Abbeyleix during the festival.
Late Margaret BERGIN
Condolences to the family of the late Margaret Bergin (née Cahill) of The Square, Ballinakill who died on June 17, Deeply regretted by her loving sons Denis, Joe and Pat, daughters Maureen and Madeline, sister Maisie, extended family relatives and friends. Reposed at her son Joe’s residence in Ballinakill. Removal to St Brigid’s Church, Ballinakill for funeral mass followed by burial in St Brigid’s Cemetery.
