NEW PARISH PRIEST
Fr Brian Kavanagh has been appointed parish priest of Arles and we wish him well in his new position. Fr Brian has been working on a part time basis with us for the past two years and we thank him for his ministry with us. Graiguecullen / Killeshin / Arles have been clustered together for the last five years and they will continue to work closely with each other.
World Suicide Prevention Day is looking for your support on Wednesday 10 September. There will be a balloon release and some great music in Carlow Town Park at 8pm on the day followed by refreshments in Graiguecullen Parish Centre. Proceeds of the event will go to Lourdes Invalid Fund, Petta House and the Irish Carers Association. Please support this very important initiative.
KILLESHIN PIPE BAND
Killeshin Pipe Band are taking part in a celebration mass on Sunday, September 7 at 10.15am in Holy Cross Church followed by the official opening of the new band room. Various other activities will take place during the following week and all welcome. The band will also participate at the 6.30pm mass in St Clare’s Church on Saturday 13 September.

Recent lotto result were 03, 05, 09 and 21 and there was no winner. The €25 lucky dip winners were TJ and Sean Hayden, Veronica Reddy, Benjy McDonald and Peter Whelan. Seller’s prize went to Colm Hayden. The Jackpot now stands at €7,100.
It’s the start of the new season and training for ‘A’ and ‘B’ teams has commenced on Monday nights at 7.30pm and new players are very welcome. Whist night that runs on Wednesdays will take a summer break until early September and they would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who supported the whist.
Thursday Morning Club resumes this Thursday September 4 after the 10am mass in St Clare’s. People are invited to come to the parish centre for tea/coffee and some friendly chat.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD
Sunday school resumes on Sunday September 14 at the 11.30am mass in St Clare’s. We invite all children aged between four years to first class to take part. Our aim is to introduce the children to the mass by taking part in activities appropriate to their age. These activities will take place in the parish centre. The children will be supervised by a team of adults and students from our second level schools.
This Friday September 5 is the First Friday of the month and there will be the usual penitential service during the 10am mass in St Clare’s.
PRE BAPTISM MEETING
The next meeting will be held in the Parish Centre on Wednesday 17 September starting at 7pm. We invite and encourage all parents who are presenting their baby for baptism over the coming week to come along.
Athletics training takes place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in St Fiacc’s School at 6.30pm.

St Clare’s FOOD KITCHEN
The Food Kitchen still giving out 120 food parcels each week. They would like to thank everyone for their continuous support through food and donations. All food donations can still be left in the food barrels at the church doors or in the parish centre.
