There will be an autumn festival of golf at Abbeyleix Golf Club commencing on Wednesday 3 with an open two person team event.

The festival continues until Sunday 7. with a variety of open competitions to suit visitors and members alike. Thanks to our sponsors for their kind support.

STRICTLY COME DANCING

Dance classes have commenced at the clubhouse on Wednesdays at 8pm. A few male dancers required.

Ballyroan ICA resumes activities after the summer break on Tuesday September 9.

All members are asked to attend.

BALLYROAN VINTAGE CLUB

Our classic and vintage road run in aid of local charities takes place next Saturday September 6 at 2pm.

There will be a die cast model show in the hall with vintage theshing and a pig on a spit.

From 9pm in Scully’s Lounge there will be a threshing barn dance. There will be prizes for the best vintage costume. There will also be plenty of tractors, cars and steam engines on show.

Lovely Laois is a new book of traditional Laois music published by well known musician Aine McGeeney of the band Goitse. Aine is also a tutor of the Music in d’House project run by Abbeyleix Heritage Company.
