Durrow /Abbeyleix Macra are holding our annual table quiz on Friday, February 20th in Decs Bar, Durrow. There will be food and raffle prizes on the night as usual. Most importantly, all proceeds will go to St. Vincent de Paul. We are also holding a food collection on the night and any non perishable items would be greatly appreciated. Hope to see you there.
The Parish lotto held its second draw of 2015 with a jackpot of 2950 euro, small winners were 30 euro Patsy Dunphy, 25 euro Shauna Monahan and 20 euro Demi Clancy. The Lotto draw of January 26 will be held in Durrow Inn with a possible jackpot of 3,250 euro. All tickets must be handed in before 9.30 pm on the night of the draw to be included in that jackpot.
Next Whist Drive organised by the Killermogh Parishes will be held in the Parochial Hall, Cork Road, Durrow on January 22, 2015 at 8.30 pm. The committee wish to thank everyone who supports the whist drive every month and they wish everyone a prosperous New Year.

SOUTH LAOIS TOURISM AGM
South Laois Tourism held their AGM on Thursday 18th December in Cullohill Community Centre. A well-attended meeting included representatives from many organisations in South Laois and North Kilkenny. A successful period was reviewed which included the launch of the South Laois Cycle Trails, a Tourism Information Point, Trails and Heritage Brochures and the new Area Bus Service. Events such as the Ballagh Cycle Challenge, The MacGiollaPhadraig Way Walk and the RTE John Murray and Nationwide visit to Cullohill were also highlighted.
The reopening of Grantstown Lake was seen as a huge plus for tourism in South Laois while the failure of those in authority to carry out maintenance work on our Rivers was seen in a lesser light. On the night the following officers were elected: Chairman - Michael G Phelan; Secretary - Vincent O’Sullivan; Treasurer - Ger Alley.
Cullohill Community Centre has installed an AED Defibrillator in a box on the outside wall of the Community Centre. This is accessible by using the Key in the break Glass Box alongside it.
A list of trained responders to call in the event of an emergency is in the box. The Community Hall is now protected by a new CCTV System and access to footage from the cameras can be gained through by any committee member.

Cullohill Community Centre and Cullohill Handball Club will be joining forces to host a Monster Auction at 1pm on Sunday 25th January in Cullohill Community Centre. The Auction will be in aid of the finishing touches to the newly refurbished facility new open at the centre. We will be using the funds raised to install a new heating system, sand and varnish the floors in the handball alley and to erect some new signage for the facility. Your support will be greatly appreciated and we hope you can help by donating something for sale on the day.
We are looking for good quality items such as firewood, agricultural goods, toys, paintings, household goods or vouchers to be auctioned on the day. Items can be dropped to the Community Centre any time after 12noon on Saturday 24th January. Items can be collected by arrangement with any hall or handball committee member or by emailing email@example.com - Please come along on the day and hopefully you can pick up a bargain!

Credit Union AGM
The Annual General Meeting of Durrow Credit Union Limited was held in the Castle Arms Hotel, Durrow on Thursday night January 15.
Those present were briefed on the financial position of the local credit union .
