Book Launch - The Lost Village
“The Lost Village” book is a story of The Cones (The Lost Village) in the Barony of Tinnahinch and the Slieve Blooms. Sean Flanagan from Tinnahinch has recorded some very interesting history and stories of the area. The life and times of the people, and how they lived. The Clear family were the last family to leave their house in Cone in 1962 and as a result The Cones was deserted. On the other hand the Battle of Tinnahinch in 1691, wiped out Tinnahinch village. The book is now available in the local Towns and Villages. Copies are available at Poole’s Shop in Rosenallis.
Cumann na mBunscol - Congratulations and well done to our 6th and 4th class girls who contested their third final in a row last Thursday. Sadly we didn’t bring home the silverware this time. The girls played very well and gave it their all . We are very proud of them and we are certain they will be back again next year. We would like to thank everybody for their support, our teachers, GAA coaches and the parents who helped with refereeing and washing jerseys. We would also like to thank our Parents Association for the lovely banner and for funding transport and food.
