Camross NS

Camross N.S. Parents Council are holding their annual 5K Fun Run on Sunday April 12 @ 12.30 and “ beat the teachers dash” @ 11.30am. This is their main fundraiser for this year and all support would be gratefully appreciated.

Fashion Show

Spring/Summer Fashion Show in aid of Church renovations on Thursday, March 12. Cheese and wine reception at 8pm sharp, fashion show will commence at 8.30 sharp. We have new outlets on board this year in both ladies and menswear. Tickets are €10 which includes: Cheese & Wine , Goodie Bag, Music at Interval and valuable raffle prizes.

So come along and see members of our Community, Teachers from Camross & Killanure, GAA & Foroige strut their stuff on the Catwalk.

Camross Vintage Ploughing

Camross vintage ploughing and road run will take place on Sunday, March 22. Road run starts at 12.30pm, ploughing will start immediately after run at 2pm in the parish field. Prizes on the day will include money and the Camross Inn Cup. For more information contact Pat on 087 9793807.

Camross ICA

The AGM of Camross ICA Guild took place on Tuesday, March 3. President Mary Kilmartin presided. Votes of sympathy were passed with Mary K. Cuddy , Conroy Family, Delaney Family and Borris in Ossory guild on the death of Kitty Foyle. Billy Gorman C.E.O. attended and we were delighted to welcome Joan Ferns with Betty to our guild meeting. The officers are Mary Kilmartin President, Secretary Margaret Culleton and Ann Dooley Treasurer. The ladies are looking forward to the Federation Dinner in the Manor Hotel on Friday, April 10. New members are welcome to join. The raffle prizes were won by Maud McGlynn & Patricia Hynes.

Late Eric Danne

The death took place on Friday , February 27 of Eric Danne of Youghal County Cork and formerly of Cappinarrow, Camross. Eric had been ill for some time and passed away in the loving care of the staff of Cork University Hospital.

Having reposed at Egan’s Funeral home Youghal his remains were taken to Saint Mary’s Collegiate Church for funeral service with burial on Thursday morning in Annatrim cemetery. Deeply regretted by his wife Lil, daughter Shirley and son Ivan, extended family and friends.

Table Quiz

Paddock National school are holding a fund raising Table Quiz at Mountrath Golf club on Saturday night March 14 commencing at 8.30pm admission is €10 followed by refreshments and musical entertainment provided by Tim Chambers. Loads of Spot prizes on the evening and your support would be appreciated.

Stations of the Cross

Stations of the Cross will take place every Monday evening for Lent in St Fergals Church Camross and in St Aiden’s Church Killenure each Wednesday morning at 9-30am for the remainder of Lent, which ends on Easter Sunday April 5.
