Spink GAA, Spink ICA and Spink Development Association are hosting a fashion show on April 24 at 8pm in the Castle Arms Hotel, Durrow. Clothes by Fyffes, M McWee and Bergins Abbeyleix, Margaret Bradford Mountmellick and others. Compere on the evening is Marnie Mc Guire, stylist and image consultant. Tickets are €10 each.
Cards for Lewis
A charity card drive will be held in Ballinakill Community Hall on Wednesday, March 18 at 8.30pm.
This fundraiser is in aid of Lewis Walsh Fund. Lewis is a 3 year old boy suffering from Muscular Dystrophy, a muscle wasting disease for which there is no cure at present.
His dad is from Ballinakill Village and he is the grandson of Paddy Walsh and the late Margaret Walsh, Drimaterrill.
Tickets are €10 each and are available from the card committee.
There will be a raffle on the night with various prizes and there will be a special draw for all ticket holders also. Your support would be greatly appreciated for the worthy cause.
Plans are underway for the commemoration next year of the 100th Anniversary of the 1916 Easter Rising in Laois. Laois County Council is asking the public around the county to submit ideas and plans for how the anniversary should be commemorated.
