Clonaslee Rounders are having a Table Quiz in The Swan on Friday March 13 at 9pm. Spot prizes on night. Fun night for all.

THE GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD

From March 27 through to Good Friday in Ballylinan. A cast and crew of almost 200 volunteers will bring this production to life for the 6th time since 1992.

TIDY TOWNS

At the recent AGM thanks were extended to all who helped, including FAS, Pat Fenlon who litterpicks daily come hail, rain or snow, and their four young volunteers. A review of the Tidy Town report was done and a programme for this year’s competition will be devised at the next meeting. The committee thanked Fr O’Reilly and Annette Doolan for publishing reports. MOUNTMELLICK DRAMA FESTIVAL

The Annual Drama Festival runs this week up to Friday March 13. Plays at 8pm each night, on Tuesday is “Be My Baby”, Wednesday is “Trad”, Thursday is“Stolen Child” and Friday “Beyond the Brooklyn Sky”. Season tickets €50, nightly tickets €10 with concession €5.

MUSIC CLASSES

Clonaslee Comhaltas have two music teachers with classes starting at 6 pm on Thursday in the Community Centre. Instruments taught are tin whistle, banjo, mandolin, concertina, fiddle and button accordion. Beginner classes for children and adults, €6 weekly. To join come along on Thursday night. One year rental system for button accordions and fiddles only. Call John Conway on 085-285-1772.

SCOIL BHRIDE NEWS

A speedy recovery to classmate and friend Noah Flynn in hospital. All pupils are enjoying the Book Fair in the School Hall. Pupils from 3rd to 6th participated in an Energy Workshop on Friday March 6, part of efforts to gain a Green Flag for energy. Second class are preparing for First Confession in the church on Wednesday March 11. Thanks to the Parent’s Association for refreshments after the ceremony. The school newsletter is on the website www.clonasleens.ie under home page/bulletin. Well done to Miss Bermingham who played a major role in Laois’ win over Antrim in the National Camogie League.

KNIT/CROCHET & CHAT
