The Parish Lotto draw which was to take place on Monday night March 02 was cancelled as a mark of respect to the Walsh Family on the death of Betty Walsh, 18 Erkindale Drive, Durrow on Monday morning. The Parish lotto with a jackpot of 3,850 euro, small winners were 30 euro Paddy Bowe snr, 25 euro Jack Fitzpatrick and 20 euro Liam Fitzpatrick. The Lotto draw of March 16 will be held in Marc Lennon’s, Durrow with a possible jackpot of 4,150 euro. All tickets must be handed in before 9.30 pm on the night of the draw to be included in that jackpot.

MR & MRS COMP

A Mr. & Mrs. Competition will be held in Dec’s Bar on Saturday, March 28th. All proceeds raised will go towards the Senior Citizens Party expenses.Any couples wishing to take part should contact Mick Dunphy on (087) 7573099. More details in next issue.

STRICTLY DANCING

The Harps GAA and Durrow Development Forum will host Strictly Come Dancing in November 2015. Fancy yourself as a bit of a dancer? Or even just wish you could dance? If so, we are looking for people to participate in our fundraiser this coming November. Professional dance tuition will be provided for approx. 10 weeks in advance of the event. You don’t even need to have a dance partner, our dance teachers can team you up! So, whether you have feet like Flatly, or two left feet - we need you! LIONS AFC

The Club will be hosting a Soccer Sisters camp this Easter for girls aged 7 to 12 years. It will be over two days (March 31st and April 1st) from 10am to 2pm. The cost is €20 per player and each participant will receive a jersey. Costs may reduce with larger numbers in attendance. This is a great opportunity for girls to receive coaching. YOUNG VOICE OF LAOIS

Could you be the next Young Voice of Laois? Open to male and female singers between 12 and 18 years old, the Young Voice of Laois 2015 is now open for entries. Following two rounds of heats in Portlaoise and Durrow, finalists will appear in the Castle Arms Hotel on Saturday, 9th May, 2015. The winner will receive the Ronan Lawlor Perpetual Cup; €100 cash prize; guest appearance at Laois School of Music End of year Concert, The Durrow Scarecrow Festival and a scholarship for Music Generation Laois School of Rock and Pop Summer Camp. Auditions will take place in the coming weeks. Applicants must live in Co. Laois. Terms and Conditions apply.
