The date of the next outing of Jack’s Golf Society has been changed and the new date is November 24 in Rathdowney Golf Club for the Christmas Hamper competition. Tee times are from 11 am to 12 noon. To book a tee time call into Dec’s Bar or contact Declan on 087 9893044.
The Killermogh Parishes are holding their next monthly Whist Drive in the Parocial Hall, Cork Road, Durrow on Thursday night November 22 at 8.30 pm. All are welcome.
Cullohill/Durrow Flower and Garden club are holding their Christmas Gala on Monday November 26 at 8 pm in the Castle Arms Hotel, Durrow with Sandra Finnegan AOIFE as demonstrator. Admission €10 which include Mulled Wine and Mince Pies. All welcome.
The parish lotto with a jackpot of €3,850 was not won on November 6, small winners were €30 Seosamh Murphy, €25 H and E Jones and €20 Phil White. The lotto of November 19 will be held in Dec’s Bar with a possible jackpot of €4,150. All tickets must be handed in before 9.30 pm on the night of the draw to be included in that jackpot.
Stars in your eyes
Some of the world’s greatest superstars will take to the stage of the Castle Arms Hotel on Saturday November 24 for the annual “Stars in your eyes” Concert. With doors opening at 8.30 pm and the show starting at 9 pm sharp, a superb night entertainment is guaranteed. Admission is €10. Monies raise from this event will fund the planting of daffodils and hedging on the Cork and Kilkenny Roads into Durrow.
Durrow IFA will hold their Annual General Meeting in the Presentation Centre on Tuesday November 20 at 8pm sharp. Guest speaker on the night will be Peter Lutterell, Beef Chairman for Laois. All members are asked to attend, this is the most important meeting of the year.
The Parents Council of St. Tighearnach’s National School, Cullohill are holding their annual Table Quiz on Friday, November 16 in O’Connell’s, Cullohill at 10pm sharp. Table of four €40. Raffle prizes available on the night.
A meeting of Cullohill ICA was held recently in the Community center. Votes of sympathy were extended to Kathleen Bolger on the death of her sister Peig, to Kelly family on the death of their mother Kittie, to Fennell family of the death of their father Mick. Ar ndeis de go raibh siad. Five members will attend the federation meeting in Ballylinan on November 25 at 2pm. Mass for the deceased members of the guild was celebrated on Sunday. Flower arranging and Bridge classes are on going in the Community Center. Mary Kavanagh won raffle and the next meeting will be on Tuesday December 4.
