Pilates classes will commence on Tuesday January 15 in the Castle Arms Hotel from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm. this is a ten week course and it costs €80. As places are limited it is essential to book by contacting Margaret at 0868547710.
The parish lotto with a jackpot of €4,750 was not won before Christmas, small winners were €30 Joe Doyle, €25 Catherine Creagh and €20 Mary Walsh. The lotto of January 14 will be held in the Castle Arms Hotel with a possible jackpot of €5,050. Tickets must be handed in before 9.30 pm on the night of the draw to be included in that jackpot. The Square in Durrow this Christmas Season has been adorned with a beautiful crib at the gates into Our Lady’s Meadow National School. There are many people to thank for this crib, firstly the Pratt Family, Ballinakill Rd, Abbeyleix who donated the fabulous figures for the crib, Kay and Hughie Sheppard, Kieran Costello for the Crib, Liam Clancy, Glass wear, the Clancy brothers (Jim and Tony) and everyone who helped in making this wonderful crib. Well done to all. The crib was offically opened and blessed on the night of the switching on of the Christmas lights

The Killermogh Parish Union Annual Dance will be held in the Castle Arms Hotel ,Durrow on Friday night January 11. Supper will be served at 9.30pm sharp. Tickets are available from the committee or at the door. This dance is one of the best nights in the year and is well worth attending, a great night is assured.

Condolences to the family of the late Andrew ‘Andy’ Healey of Dublin and formerly Durrow who passed away peacefully on December 27 in the wonderful care of all the staff of Walter Stevenson Unit, St James’s Hospital. Beloved husband of Ann and loving father of Andrew, Sinéad and Ciarán and he is also missed by brother, sisters extended family and large circle of friends. Reposing at his home tomorrow followed by Funeral Mass in Church of the Immaculate Conception, Clondalkin Village with burial afterwards in Newcastle Cemetery. Donations if desired to Cancer Research.
