Tickets for the women’s party night on Friday April 26 in the Clonaslee Community Centre are available from Dolores Murray, Annette Doolan, Betty Finnerty, Kathleen Blake and Nuala Smith. A 3 course meal starting at 8 pm and entertainment for only €20, it will be a great night.

LADIES ROUNDERS CLUB TABLE QUIZ

St Manman’s Ladies Rounder Team is holding a table quiz in the Swan Pub on Friday April 19 at 9pm sharp. Table is €20. 1st and 2nd prize. All welcome for fun night.

LAOIS CLEAN UP WEEK

Clonaslee will be doing a major clean up in and around our village on Tuesday 16 and Thursday 18 April starting from the Heritage Centre at 6pm. We invite all business and individuals young and old to help us clean up Clonaslee. All litter gathered will be collected free from Laois Environmental Section on Friday 19th April.

Thank you to all who participated, those who sponsored raffle prizes, the quizmaster and those who helped in any way with the Good Friday Table quiz for the Laois Branch of Irish Wheelchair Association. Total amount raised was €502.32.

FLEADH CHEOIL

SENIOR CITIZENS SOCIAL

Senior citizens social afternoon on Wednesday April 24 in the Heritage Centre from 2pm-4pm. All are welcome.

EASTER DUCK RACE

The proceeds from this race are to fund the Clonaslee Vintage Run which is taking place on Sunday May 5. The results of the Easter duck race are: 1st – weekend away in luxury hotel to value of €250: Eleanor Corcoran, Clonaslee; 2nd €200 Joe Davey, Sligo; 3rd €150 Kenneth Seery, Killurn; 4th €100 Joe Phelan, Borris-in-Ossary; 5th €50 Michelle Breen, Clonaslee. This year’s beneficiaries include Mountmellick Hospital Patients benefit fund and Clonaslee Tidy Towns. The committee members thank the community for their generous support.

At the recent monthly meeting the following items were discussed: road markings, progress of new gym, storage shed progress, Fas, social dancing finished for the moment, new heating, tables, chairs and equipment from centre will now be for rent, children’s bingo on Sunday April 14, women’s night out on April 26, Coilte Social Environment looking for nominations, litter, wheelchair table quiz, rental of centre, Social Services AGM, Community Forum meeting, The Gathering and votes of sympathy to all who have lost loved ones recently. Next meeting May 13.

CASTLECUFFE NS ENROLMENT
