The young people of Portlaoise’s new Youth Cafe have some equipment but we could do with a lot more and it doesn’t have to be brand spanking new. Maybe you have something at home that you don’t use any more? We would love some CDs, DVDs and computer games for PS3, Xbox, Wii for under 18s. Any working music equipment or anything else that you think we might like and use. We know the people of Laois are very generous so thank you in advance. Launch of Ireland Reaching Out in County Laois, Thursday, April 4 at 8pm, Parish Centre, Portlaoise. In the year of The Gathering 2013, Ireland Reaching Out is an initiative to trace and encourage the descendants of those who left your parishes to return from around the world. LATE SR BRIGID O’DWYER
The death has occurred of Sr Brigid Mary O’Dwyer of Presentation Sisters, Ashbrook Gardens, Portlaoise, Laois. Died March 21, peacefully, in her 101st year, in the loving care of the staff of Shalom Nursing Home, Kilcock, Co. Kildare.
Deeply regretted by her loving community, Presentation Sisters, nephew Melvyn, niece-in-law Ruth, grandnephews, grandniece, great-grandnephew, extended family and friends.
Reposing in Shalom Nursing Home Chapel. Removal on Saturday at 3.45pm to arrive at SS Peter and Paul’s, Portlaoise, for 5pm. Funeral mass on Sunday at 12.30pm, followed by interment in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise.
