The Slieve Bloom Association holds its AGM on Thursday 26 in the Glendine Lodge, Kinnity at 8.30pm. It would be great to see all members there.
CLEAN UP LAOIS WEEK
Chairman John Callaghan thanks the members of Tidy Towns and Fas participants for all the help. All roads, estates and village left spotless. We welcome the students from the Vocational School who are going to work with us and have already designed their own litter bin. We welcome all ages and enjoy being involved with you. Well done. Thank you to the Environmental Section of Laois County Council who did a great job cleaning up rubbish that was dumped at Brittas Lake.
The Irish Kidney Association wishes to thank everyone who supported their recent church gate collection and the collectors. Total amount raised was €646.82.
Sincere thanks to all who took part in the Irish Heart Foundation walk. Also thanks to all who returned sponsorship cards and money. Anyone with cards outstanding may return them to John Callaghan. Total raised will be published later.

CLONASLEE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION
At the last monthly meeting the following items were discussed: local library has 20 members and a lot of goodwill. There are over 3,500 books available to borrow. Opening hours Tuesday and Thursdays from 2 - 4pm. Still looking into playground equipment for the playschool. Grants are being applied for boxing and gym equipment. Rooms upstairs need a revamp. Congratulations to the basketball club for getting on so well in Cork. A lot of vandalism happened over the past month in the village. Clean up Laois week, Tidy Towns will be out for 3 days over the week to clean up Clonaslee. A plaque will be put up with the names and dates they served of all the past and present chairpersons of the community centre. Fly posting will stay as is, only outside the 50km signposts. Best wishes to Bridie Conroy for a speedy recovery. Next meeting will be May 14 in the community centre.
