WW1 SAILORS AND SOLDIERS

In conjunction with The Gathering 2013 and the centenary of WW1 in 2014 Mountmellick Museum would like to form a small group of interested people to

research and ascertain information on local sailors and soldiers who fought in WW1. We hope to obtain enough information to hold an exhibition in remembrance of those who died and detail what life was like for those who returned to the Mountmellick area. If you would like to be part of this group, have a story to tell or have any artefacts from the Great War which you would like included in our project, contact Kathleen Comerford or Dolores Dempsey in the museum at 057 8624525.
