Chairman of Laois MS Tony Flanagan is urging the public to support their fundraising efforts, made all the more urgent by recent budget cuts.

“We help people who are sick with MS in Laois. We do anything for them, from driving them to respite in Dublin, to delivering fuel to their houses and helping with grocery shopping. We have a lot of people who may lose their medical card with the budget, and elderly people will lose their phone allowance. A phone is vital for people with MS, for contact, particularly if they are housebound,” he said.

He thanked the two amateur athletes, who have been training hard on the streets of Portlaoise for the past six months.

“We are tremendously grateful. People can contact me to get a card to fill out, we will take anything, even €2 will help,” Tony said.

To donate, contact Tony at 087 4145140, or donate in AIB Portlaoise, account number 15797-117, sort code 93-32-79.
