All the flower beds in and around the village have been covered with compost from the composter behind the Community Centre. Clonaslee were the first in Laois to host the Master Composting course. The committee have a community orchard as a project for 2016. Please use the litter bins for all litter and butts. At lunch time there is a lot of litter dropped, please be aware and make the change. Clonaslee CCDA asks, in the interest of Tidy Towns that all fly posting must go outside the 50-60 km signs. Tidy Towns have been commended on this feature in the National results. Thank you all for your cooperation.

Country Market in the Heritage Centre on Saturday January 16, 10 am to 1 pm with fresh produce, home baking, knitwear, arts, crafts, goats cheese and milk, flowers and more.
Items at recent CCDA meeting: recent work on the Clodiagh River and on footpaths in the village, yellow box at the Heritage Centre, Christmas Light collection raised €795, new ways to fundraise, lights, heating, lying water and back door at Heritage Centre, Glenbarrow walks to be upgraded, revamping gym, new sign for Tidy Towns bronze medal, Parish Community lotto, one way system at centre, CCDA elections, grants for 1916 projects, Talking Memories books still available in local shops, Clonaslee College students not to obstruct doorway of centre with bags, bingo to resume in February if weather permits, sympathy to all who lost loved ones recently. AGM is on Monday February 8 in the Community Centre, new members welcome.

SLIEVE BLOOM ASSOC
The association held its Christmas Dinner in the Community Hall on Nov 29. A large crowd enjoyed a lovely meal by Marie Egan and team, who had the hall decorated beautifully. Music was by Martin Delaney and those who adjourned to Shelly’s Pub continued a great night of music. The AGM is deferred to January 28, at the ICA Hall in Mountmellick at 8pm, The Imbolc Festival arrangements will be finalised. All members asked to attend.
