The Lotto resumed on Monday night January 11, after the Christmas break with a possible jackpot of €3,700. The Jackpot was not won and the small winners were €30 Pat Dollard, €25 Big Tom c/o Castle Arms and €20 Mary Dollard. The lotto of January 25 will be held in the Durrow Inn with a possible jackpot of €4,000. All tickets must be handed in before 9.30 pm on the night of the draw to be included in that jackpot.
Save our Mountain
The Committee of “Save Our Mountain” are holding a concert in the Castle Arms Hotel on Saturday January 23 at 8pm when the world famous “The Celtic Tenors” will entertain everyone. Tickets are available from Ticketmaster, Marie Stapleton (0876488638) or any member of the Committee.

Durrow Bridge Club continues in the Presentation Centre to the left of the local Catholic Church every week on Wednesdays. All are most welcome to attend.
The Durrow Community Text Alert Service went live just prior to Christmas. There are almost 150 members in Durrow registered to this new service. A test Text was sent out to all members at that time with the Text Alert Mobile Phone Number. Any person who registered but who DID NOT receive this test Text, please call or text either of the following numbers: (087) 6927409 or (087) 2797214. The Committee is currently arranging to put in place Text Alert Signs on all roads leading into Durrow and in each housing estate.
The committee would like to thank all the members of Durrow Fire Brigade, the FAS team and everyone who helped in putting up this year’s Christmas lights. The town looked very festive over the holiday period drawing much admiration from locals and passer-bys alike.

Molly Foley RIP
The death took place on Sunday January 10, of Molly Foley, Mary Street, Durrow following a short illness. Molly was the last surviving member of the Guilfoyle family who lived and was reared in Durrow. Predeceased by her husband Mick, Molly spent most of her adult life in England and returned home to look after her aging mother. A really lovely lady Molly will be sadly missed by her family, neighbours and friends. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. She reposing at her home before removal took place to the Holy Trinity Church, Durrow on Tuesday morning with burial in the adjoining cemetery. May she rest in peace.
