The CYMS committee would like to thank everyone who supported us in our recent fundraiser, and a special word of thanks to Connell and all his staff at Supervalu, Rathdowney for allowing us the use of their premises. Congratulations to Noel Gorman who won the Supervalu voucher. The Senior snooker tournament is well underway and is heading towards the final stages. Thanks to all who took part and those that are still in it. This tournament has provided us with some fantastic games and great rivalry. Best of luck to all remaining contestants. ST PAt’S Parade
St Patrick's Day parade on Thursday, March 17. Theme – Rathdowney, A Hundred Years On. Our Parade will be led by Mrs. Finane and Devlin O’Connell. Calling on all Clubs, Businesses and Groups to take part. Floats are €20. €100 for the best float. All money from the floats is donated to local projects and Laois Branch of MS Ireland. Starting from the Conoboro at 1pm, up to Scoil Bride, using their Roundabout to turn around and then back down the town where everybody is invited back to the Parochial Hall for refreshments and music on the day. From 2.30pm in the Marian Centre, there will be a picture and slide show to show Rathdowney from way back. Please come and go down memory lane. Kiddies disco at 3.30 to 5pm, Adm. €3 for ages 8-14. On the day we will have face-painting and loads of fun for all the family, finishing off in the evening with a traditional ‘Trad.’ session in Corcorans from 7 to 9 pm. A great Bingo is held every Tuesday Night at 8.30 in the Rathdowney Community Centre. Your support would be greatly appreciated. Bingo is run by the Community Centre Group.
