Tidy towns thanks
The chairman of Portlaoise Tidy Towns Jerry Lodge wishes to thank all who took part in last Saturday's clean-up. Over 100 people took part and the event was a great success with over 2.5 tons of litter being collected. He complimented all the members of the tidy towns committee young and old who turned out, the many staff members of Laois County Council who helped, the business representatives and residents associations. I would also like to express my thanks to Gerry Browne who co-ordinated the event and succeeded in attracting a lot of new support in helping to bring again a sense of pride to 'The Town'.Another clean-up day is planned for June and we will be asking for the same level of community support.
