The AGM of Rathdowney Social Services takes place at the Community Centre Cuan Bhride Rathdowney on Tuesday, June 21 at 8pm. All are welcome.

Vintage & DOG SHOW
There will be a dog show, vintage display and a family fun day in Ballaghmore on Sunday July 3, registration starts at 12.30. A great day out for all the family and don't forget to bring your pets. All are welcome.
Thanks to all who help out and donated at the recent fundraiser for the Irish Heart Foundation. In total of €664 was raised.
Congratulations to sub station officer Joe Harding on winning the National Trauma Challenge. The event took place over two days in Co Meath. Joe and firefighter Jason Maher from Mountmellick represented Laois Fire Services, triumphed over 13 Irish teams and four. The competition included two 10 minute scenarios, one standard and one complex during which they treated live casulities with life threatening emergencies. The duo will represent Ireland at the world rescue extrication and trauma challenge in Brazil.
Rathdowney Anglers fly fishing competition on Friday June 17, names taken in Corcorans from 7.30pm. Weigh in at midnight.
Takes place this year take on Sunday, July 17. Kicking off on Saturday 16 from 5pm with a Truck Show, BBQ and bar and music. On Sunday 17 massive truck, vintage car and tractor show plus the agriculture show. Including all our usual show events. Cattle, Sheep, Horses, Pigs, Poultry, Arts & Crafts, Baking, Sewing, local home produce, Trade stands, Entertainment, Donkey derby, Tug of war, Best dressed competitions and most glamorous granny. Over 200 classes to exhibit in and much more. Donations being made to the Cuisle centre and local meals on wheels. Come and meet David Norris demonstrate some traditional threshing. Steam engine from bygone days once owned by the Delaney Family of Coolkerry will be on site to cut the corn on show day. Hope you can join us on the day. A fun day out for all the family. Laois Age Friendly Strategy launch on TuesdayJune 14 at 2.00pm in the Abbeyleix Manor Hotel, Abbeyleix. The troop is now accepting membership applications for Beavers and Cubs for the 2016/2017 scout year. The Beaver section caters for boys and girls who are 6, 7 & 8 years of age. PARENT & TODDLEr
The group is held every Friday morning 10-12 in the Marion Centre. New members welcome children from new born to playschool. Kids play and adults can have a cuppa and a chat.
A great Bingo is held every Tuesday Night at 8.30 in the Rathdowney Community Centre. Support greatly appreciated. Run by the Community Centre Group.
