Laois Friends of Midland Simon would like to thank everyone who supported the church gate collection held in all Laois churches on Sat 13th and Sunday 14th. August. All funds raised will be used to alleviate the difficulties of homelessness in Couny Laois. A special thank you to all clergy who facilitated collections and to the great volunteers who collected. Rathdowney Errill GAA annual race night will take place in Thurles greyhound track on Saturday 27th August. Buster race prize is €1000. Tickets which are available from all committee members are €10 which includes free admission and race card. Children go free. First race will take place at 8pm. A great nights entertainment for all the family. Your support is appreciated both on and off the field.

The volunteers and members of Rathdowney Youth Cafe would like to sincerely thank local supermarkets for their kind and generous donation of the food and goodies for our recent BBQ. Without hesitation both were more than willing and happy to help us out. A great day was had by all.
Late James RYAN
Condolences to the family of the late James (Jim) Ryan Conoboro Road, Rathdowney who died on August 17 peacefully at his residence. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Lena and family, Jean, James and Louise, brothers Willie and Martin, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends. Reposed at his daughter Louise's residence (Conoboro Road), Rathdowney. Funeral Mass in Church of the Most Holy Trinity, Rathdowney followed by burial in Bealady Cemetery.
