Portlaoise College students pen Togher adventure story

Second year English students at Portlaoise College have together written an adventure story based in Togher woods, led by Laois native, author Ann Egan.

"All the students contributed enthusiastically to our collaborative story over five workshops, sharing the wonderful world of our imagination." the writer said at the launch of the book recently.

Sinéad Boland, JCSP Co-ordinator and English teacher, is proud of her class.

“This is a great piece of creative writing for these students to put their name to. Well done everyone,” she said, thanking Ann Egan.

The 'Make a Book' project is part of the new Junior Certificate Schools Programme, and is backed by the Poetry Ireland Writers’ In Schools Scheme.
