The cemetery mass will be held in Mayo on Friday June 29.

1956-1959 reunion tickets at €22.50 each are now available for this event which is being held on Friday July 13. Mass will be in Mayo Church, Crettyard, at 7pm followed by meal and dance/sing song in the Seven Oaks Hotel, Carlow. Contact Mick Burke at 056 4442116.

The local ladies club are holding their annual outing on Saturday July 7 to Lismore Gardens and Heritage Centre, Waterford City and if the weather is fine to Tramore in the afternoon and back to Langtons in Kilkenny for evening meal. Cost is €50.


Classes continue in Behans of Tolerton each Thursday at 8.30pm. All are welcome.

Her many friends and neighbours were saddened to learn of the recent death of Mrs Anne Sheehan, Cloneen, Crettyard which took place at Archersrath Nursing Home, Kilkenny, recently. Anne, who was 87, was a native of Montheen and spent a number of years in Leicester, England before returning to live at Cloneen. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul. Her remains were removed from her daughter’s residence to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Moneenroe on Monday June 18. Burial took place in adjoining cemetery after 11am requiem mass on Tuesday. Sympathy is extended to her daughter, Joanne, son-in-law, Donie O’Neill, grandsons, Paul and Daniel O’Neill, sister, Maureen Coady, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a large circle of friends.
