DURROW

BLOOD TRANSFUSION

BLOOD TRANSFUSION

The mobile unit of the Blood Transfusion Service will visit Durrow on Thursday June 28 in the Castle Arms Hotel Durrow from 5pm to 8.30pm. With over 3000 units of blood needed each week and with supplies on the low side during summer it is very important that we have a good clinic in Durrow. Anyone between the ages of 18 and 70 years can give blood and it only takes less than one hour from start to finish.

RACE NIGHT

FISHING

Durrow/Cullohill parish anglers held a trout fishing competition for the Mick Monahan Memorial Cup. Despite the very high waters there were some lovely fish weigh-in. the winner was Pat Dunphy, 2nd Mick Walsh and 3rd Tommy Coffey. Next competition is on July 8 and it is a pike fishing competition for the Brendan Sheeran Memorial Cup.

PRIDE OF PLACE

With July 13 only three weeks away Durrow Development Forum are asking every resident of Durrow to get involved in getting the town into shape for the judging. Lots more work has to be done, window boxes, hanging baskets are to be displayed on every household, litter has to be cleared up, untidy areas to be tidied, unsightly areas to be cleaned, weeds on kerb to be cleaned. It will take a massive effort from everyone to get Durrow into shape for the judging. Don’t let it be said that you failed your town by not getting involved.
