is held every Monday, 2 - 4.30pm at the Cuan Bhride Centre, Morrreville, Rathdowney. From complete beginners to experienced knitters, should you, man or woman over the age of 18, feel you would like to join us, you will be made very welcome. There is a small fee of €2 on attendance to cover the cost of insurance, etc. No charge, for the chat and laughter.
THE RATHDOWNEY PLAYGROUND & MUGA
will be open on Friday June 29, at 12noon. All welcome, there will be an official opening followed by the cutting of the ribbon. Light refreshments will be served. There will be a blessing of the new playground on Wednesday, July 4 at 7pm.

will hold a trout fishing competition on Sunday July 1. Entry fees taken in the square 9.10am. Weigh-in in Liam Corcoran’s bar at 6pm sharp. Usual rules apply.
Thursday is a very special night for OCC as its first ever cycling race will be held in town. Five clubs are taking part in the race: Naas Cycling Club, Newbridge, South County Dublin, Kilcullen, Carlow and of course the Ossory Cycling Club. The course will be four laps around Donaghmore, starting and finishing at the Card Stand. The race starts at 7.30pm sharp. Parking along the left hand side of the main street from Moore St to Peadars pub will be restricted from 6 - 9pm. We would ask all to obey the marshals on the night and to come out and support the race.
Rathdowney/Errill are having a dog night at Thurles race track on July 7. To sponsor a race or a dog get in touch with any committee member. Buster tickets are available from the players or committee members so come along on the night and have a great night out.
On Wednesday July 4, 30 Girl Guides, young leaders and seven of their adult leaders are heading to Lough Key Park in Boyle, Co. Roscommon to take part in the Irish Girl Guides International Camp 101. The Irish Girl Guides will welcome 15 countries to this camp. The 19 Rathdowney Girl Guides and leaders are hosting scouts and leaders from Canada, while the 11 young leaders will be on activity duty helping to run the camp. During the week, over 1588 people will be camping and enjoying the many activities on site. We wish everybody a great time.
