Rosenallis NS pupils get musical with new classes

ROSENALLIS NS welcomed their new junior infants, who have settled into their new surroundings very well. Rachel, Abbie, Caithlin, Eva, Cassie, Michael, Ciara, James and Dylan are all new to the school. The school also welcomed the new families who have joined them this year.

ROSENALLIS NS welcomed their new junior infants, who have settled into their new surroundings very well. Rachel, Abbie, Caithlin, Eva, Cassie, Michael, Ciara, James and Dylan are all new to the school. The school also welcomed the new families who have joined them this year.

This term in Cumann na mBunscol, the school fielded both a boys’ and girls’ team.

The boys team have played four matches, winning one. The girls have played four matches also and won one.

Organisers from the school said that they were very grateful to all the support they received from parents, to Seamus Hyland for coaching and Paul Friel and Seamus Hyland for referring.

As well as participating in sports, students in the school are also exploring their musical sides. Music Generation Laois have provided an opportunity to 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th classes to take part in a choral programme for the year.

This is a great opportunity for the children and begin earlier this month in the school.

The parents’ association AGM was held on Wednesday October 3. Organisers extended their thanks to all parents who attended the meeting and said that it was great to see new faces.

The committee were all re-elected so it remains same as last year.

The school asked that everyone involved with pupils supports the parents’ association by attending their meetings and helping out with any fundraising ventures that may take place over the coming months.

The school also expressed its gratitude to to Brendan Glancy who recently put up the new basketball posts for the children.
