A great Bingo is held every Tuesday Night at 8.30 in the Rathdowney Community Centre. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
Bingo is run by the Community Centre Group.
The museum has now extended the opening hours for the summer months to facilitate our many visitors, the times are as follows:
Mon – Fri 11am to 5pm Sat – Sun & Bank holidays 2pm to 5pm.
The museum and agricultural workhouse will also be open during Heritage Week which runs until August 25 for anyone who wishes to experience what life was like in an original Irish Workhouse built to support the poor and destitute during and post famine period.
RATHDOWNEY GAA LOTTO
There was no winner in this week’s jackpot which was €8,500.
The numbers drawn were 6, 11, 12, 28.
The 10 winners of €15 were John Loughman, Fireman Sam, James Gilmartin, Victoria Bergin, Teresa Walsh, Liam Browne, Breda Hayes, Marie Mahon, Margaret Browne, Terry Norris.
Next week’s jackpot will be €8,650.

This book for the summer read is The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley.
The book club meet once a month on a Monday night at 8pm in the Library.
The next meeting will be Monday 2, September, it is a good time for new members to join for the months join.

It’s a busy time of year for Macra so it’s a great time to join up. Macr includes sports, drama, public speaking, competition nights and much more, it is for everyone not just farmers between the ages of 17 and 35 years.
GAA Race Night
Our annual race night will be held on Saturday August 24 in Thurles greyhound track. Buster tickets are €10 each which includes admission, draw and race card on the night. Children go free.
There will be a free raffle after each race for all children that attend on the night.
Prizes include sliotars and hurls signed by your favourite Rathdowney/Errill player.
Fitzpatrick bus hire will also be available on the night.
First race starts at 7.45pm so come early to study form.
Anyone who has not purchased a ticket yet can do so from any committee member.
Any ticket previously purchased will be valid for the new date.
If you wish to put a note in the Leinster Express please leave it into the Card Stand by Thursday by 5pm.
The annual Churchgate in aid of Concern will be taken up before all masses on the weekend of 31stAugust/1stSeptember.Please support as generously as possible.
