Ossory Cycling Club are holding a cycling coaching session on Sunday November 3, in the GAA centre Rathdowney. There will be two coaches one for the A group and one for the B group. Each cyclist will get individual attention and tips. Cost of course is €15. All are welcome.
TEMPLE STREET HOSPITAL
A frightening and fantastic fundraiser for the Children’s Hospital on Friday November 1, in Corcoran’s bar. Halloween fancy dress party, with prize for best costume. Music by DJ Adio.
A great bingo is held every Tuesday night at 8.30pm in the Rathdowney Community Centre. Your support would be greatly appreciated. Bingo is run by the Community Centre Group.

OSSORY CYCLING CLUB
For those interested in some winter training. Turbo training classes has started every Wednesday in the Marion centre at 8pm sharp. The only criteria is that you must have your own turbo trainer.
Cost of training €1 per night.
Computer classes for men have started every Wednesday morning 11am - 1pm in the old convent school, catering for all skill levels from beginners. Art classes are due to start next week. The men’s shed is open every Thursday morning from 10am - 2pm in the old convent school. New members welcome every week.
PARENT & TODDLER GROUP
Meet on Friday mornings 10-12 in the Marion Centre. All welcome parents and minders with children from new born to pre-school.
Laois community forum awards
Application forms for the 2013 Laois Community Forum Awards are now available. Entry deadline extended to Thursday, November 7 before 5pm. There are five categories in the group/clubs section while there is also an Unsung Hero Award. Application forms can be downloaded from www.laoiscommunityforum.ie
Late Mary whelan
Condolences to the family of the late Mary Whelan (née Comerford) of Moore Street, Rathdowney, who died on Sunday, October 20 peacefully in the loving care of her family Mary. Predeceased by her husband Michael she is deeply regretted by her daughter Breda (Dollard) and her son Pat, sister Grace (O’Malley), extended family, neighbours, relatives and friends. Reposed at her residence with funeral prayers followed by removal at 7pm to the Church of the Holy Trinity, Rathdowney. Funeral mass followed by burial in Bealady Cemetery.
