Last weekend saw the first ever Frank’s Shed TV festival take place in Kavanaghs in Portlaoise.

The festival was run by the volunteers who run Frank’s Shed recording studio in Portlaoise and saw a wealth of talent take to the venue’s newly designed stage.

The festival showed all that is good about music and community in Portlaoise, showcasing youth bands during the day on Saturday and providing a platform for local and national up and coming acts on both Friday and Saturday night.

Highlights from Friday included Dem Fools and Adela and the Meanits, while Saturday’s gig included stomping sets from Thurles based Autonomous I and Dublin’s the Hot Sprockets who brought the festival to a close.

Throughout the weekend there was a great sense of community and comraderie between the organisers, the bands and the many fans who travelled to the venue. Many fans were left hoping that they won’t have to wait too long for the next Frank’s Shed TV gigs.
