A great Bingo is held every Tuesday Night at 8.30 in the Rathdowney Community Centre. Your support would be greatly appreciated. Bingo is run by the Community Centre Group.
The Aware Support Group for people experiencing depression, anxiety, stress and other mood related conditions meets every Tuesday at 7.30pm in St Peter and Pauls Parish Centre, Portlaoise. The Rathdowney Anglers held a fishing competition on St Patrick’s Day. The results will be published in next week’s paper. Anyone wishing to pay their membership fee can do so at the Card Stand or in Keane’s Petrol Station.
Fly fishing lessons are taking place in April. These lessons will include much advice, how to tie flies, castings etc, and will be free of charge. If you require any further information please contact Rory on 087 2388064.
Bootcamp takes place every Tuesday and Thursday, 7-8pm. Pilates takes place every Tuesday at 8.15pm. These are 8 week courses. All fitness levels are welcome. Place are limited, so to book contact Brid on 086 3850977.
The Donaghmore Workhouse and Agricultural Museum is open Monday to Friday 11am to 5pm. Come and see for yourself what life was like in a real workhouse.

Clough Ballacolla GAA are hosting a drama called The Six Mary’s by Jean Farrell and Catherine Gallagher on Friday March 21 at 8pm in the Hawthorn Community Building, Ballacolla. This is a comic look at growing up in Ireland in the 1950’s, appealing to audiences of all ages. Admission is €10. Tickets available from Martina 085 7776777 or Avril 087 7501666. There was no winner in this week’s Rathdowney GAA lotto jackpot which was €1150. The numbers drawn were 10, 15, 16, 17. The 10 winners of €15 were Thomas Lawlor, Peter Bergin, Thomas Lawlor, Mark Delaney, Mary Campion, John Finn, Tommy Hickey, David McKelvey, Eppie Fitzpatrick and Lucy Holohan. Next week’s Jackpot will be €1300. Tickets can be purchased in all shops or any local promoter.
Rathdowney/Errill GAA will host a table quiz in O’Reilly’s bar on Friday March 21 at 9.30pm. Tables are €40 for a team of four and there will also be a raffle with spot prizes on the night. We would encourage as many players as possible to come out on the night to show their support.
The Prefects in St Fergal’s College have organised a Social Dance in aid of the school’s Gym Fund in the Templemore Arms on Friday March 21.

Tickets are €10 each and can be bought in the office in St Fergal’s College. Tickets will also be available on the night.

The Parent and Toddler Group meet on Friday mornings 10am-12pm in the Marion Centre. All parents and minders with children from new born to pre-school are welcome.

Laois week in An Grianán takes place from June 16-20.
Courses available include cookery, dancing, fabric boxes, Assissi Embroidery, bets & bits, photography, pamper me, aromatherapy and encaustic art. Places are open to members and non members.
