A workshop for parents of children aged up to six years, will be held in the Laois Education Centre in Portlaoise on Wednesday June 11 from 7pm to 8.30pm.
The Aistear Curriculum is a new curriculum launched by the NCCA specifically aimed from years 0-6.
It provides opportunities for creative and hands-on learning in the infant classroom and complements the new curriculum.
Due to recent focus on literacy and numeracy the Aistear Curriculum is expected to play a very important role in Infant Education.
Aistear enables children to learn through play developing both their literacy and numeracy skills.
Ever wondered why children spend so much time playing? Or what the value of play both at home and in school, might be?
This workshop looks at how play can help young children to learn and develop, and what you as a parent can do to support this.
So come along and find out more about learning through play.
This workshop is suitable for parents of children in junior and senior infant classes in primary schools. Facilitators for this workshop will be Aileen Culliton and Grace Digan from Aistear.
There is no fee for the workshop but booking is essential. Places are limited on this workshop and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
