Due to bereavements the Guild will not be holding its annual fundraising sale of work this Mission Sunday October 19. ECUMENICAL HARVEST THANKSGIVING

Jono, son of Lily and the late Douglas (formerly of Mountmellick Community School) is now the Church of Ireland Rector in a Belfast parish.

LATE FINTAN (VINCENT) DUNNE
There was much sadness at the news of the death of Fintan Dunne of Twoomey Park on Sunday October 5. Fintan, known to family and friends as Vincent or TY was the son of the late Danny and Catherine Dunne and brother to Ray, Catherine, Noeleen, Veronica and the late Danny. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. Remains reposed at his residence until removal to St Joseph’s Church on Monday evening. Requiem Mass was celebrated at noon on Tuesday with burial afterwards to St Joseph’s cemetery. The sincere sympathy of the community is extended to Vincent’s family and friends on their bereavement.

The library is running an art competition during October. There are two categories: a colouring competition for pre-schoolers to first class pupils and a drawing competition for 2nd to 6th class. The theme for the drawing competition is ‘I love Reading’. Name, address, age, school, class, clearly printed on the back of the picture. Entries must be submitted on A3 (420 X 297 mm) or A4 (210 X 297 mm). One entry per person. Drawings can be in pencil, charcoal, pen or ink, felt tip markers, crayon, pastel, watercolours, acrylics, oils, poster paints or collage. No computer aided design may be entered. Closing date is Tuesday October 21. Colouring entry forms in the library.
