The Parish lotto with a jackpot of 3,850 euro, small winners were 30 euro Paddy Bowe snr, 25 euro Jack Fitzpatrick and 20 euro Liam Fitzpatrick. The Lotto draw of March 09 will be held in Marc Lennon’s, Durrow with a possible jackpot of 4,150 euro. All tickets must be handed in before 9.30 pm on the night of the draw to be included in that jackpot.
A Bus will run from Durrow each day to Colaiste Mhuire School, Johnstown and return each evening. All passengers will be catered for and more details con be got by contacting M&A Coaches, Ballyraggett (0568833454).
Durrow Community Council are organising the Senior Citizen’s Party which will be held on Saturday 7th March in The Castle Arms Hotel, commencing at 2pm with meal served at 2.30pm. Invitations will be issued shortly. Anyone wishing to attend or if anyone knows of somebody who would like to attend but have not received an invitation you are very welcome to come, just notify any committee member.

Get Fit this Year
Lots of individuals are jogging / walking at present to maintain fitness and improve their lifestyle a lot. Large numbers are using the walking loops in the local woods to walk in a safe and secure environment. This is very encouraging. There is a road race coming up on Sunday 26th of April at the Golf Club in Thurles. It is a ten km road race / walk to challenge us to try longer distances to maintain fitness for the New Year.

Durrow/Cullohill parish Anglers held a Pike Fishing Competition on Grantstown Lake on Sunday February 22 and despite the terrible wet condition there was a good number fishing. Winner of the Brendan Sheeran Memorial Cup was Michael Walsh, 2nd Pat Dunphy and 3rd Seamus Coffey. Next pike fishing competition on Grantstown Lake will be held on March 8. Trout Season opens on St. Patrick’s Day with a competition. All members will receive a “Text” giving all details of the competition at least a week before the event. Membership cards will be available before the trout season starts.

Durrow/Cullohill Parish Anglers held their 2014 awards presentation in the Durrow Inn on Sunday evening February 22. U-14 Angler of the Year, Lee Coffey; U-14 Heaviest Trout, K. Carroll; U-18 Angler of the Year, Dan Brophy; U-18 Heaviest Trout, Dan Brophy; Senior Angler of the Year, Seamus Coffey; Heaviest Trout, Jonathan Stapleton; Heaviest Pike, Michael Walsh. Club Chairman Philip Kearney made the presentations and thanked everyone for their support in 2014.
