Borris-in-Ossory lost one of its oldest and most respected citizens last week with the passing of the late Kitty Foyle (née Finn), Shanboe, Borris-in-Ossory, Laois
Her death took place on Friday, February 20, at the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Full obituary next week.
A Clean/Sweep-Up will take place next Saturday at 11 a.m. in Borris-in-Ossory. All volunteers willing to give a bit of time to cleaning and tidying up the village will be very welcome.
There will be evening Mass every evening during Lent at 7.30 p.m. in St. Canice’s Church, Borris-in-Ossory. This is to facilitate parishioners who would like to attend Mass every day during Lent. There is no morning Mass in Borris-in-Ossory during Lent except on Saturday at 10 a.m. There will be Stations of the Cross instead of Rosary each Friday evening during Lent at 7 p.m. before Mass, beginning next Friday February 27.

The next meeting of the Gardening group will be held on Thursday 12th March at 8oc. in St Canice’s Hall. Everyone is more than welcome to attend and new friends are always needed.
KILLASMEESTIA TIDY TOWNS
The AGM of Killasmeestia Tidy Towns has been deferred to a later date, apoligies of any inconvenience caused. The rescheduled date will be announced in the next week.
The annual Lourdes Invalid Fund collection will be taken up at all Masses in the parish on Saturday March 14 and Sunday March 15. Support would be very much appreciated as the proceeds will be used to send a parishioner to Lourdes with the Ossory Pilgrimage in May.
Social dancing for fun with Maureen Culleton continues each Thursday afternoon in St Canice’s Hall, Borris in Ossory from 2.30pm-4pm. All are welcome.
