St Patrick’s Day
The committee would like to invite all individuals, schools, businesses and community groups to take part in the St Patrick’s Day Parade. Two prizes for best floats 1st €75.00 2nd €50.00. Theme is ‘Springtime’. Walking floats meet at the Green School and vehicle floats meet at Johnsgrove. Parade starts at 3.30pm and participants welcome for refreshments at community centre afterwards.

A Suicide Alertness Skills Workshop will be held on Thursday March 26, in Rosenallis GAA Club Rooms, at 7.30pm - 10.30pm. The free workshop aims to build individual and community capacity to promote positive mental health and address suicide prevention. It outlines the definitions of mental health, attributes of positive mental health and suggests ways of maintaining well-being. The workshop will help participants identify persons who may be having suicidal thoughts and connect them to appropriate resources and supports. All welcome.
Congratulations to the Rosenallis National School students for their successful Pancake Tuesday fundraiser. The children raised over €200 for Laois Down Syndrome. Well done everyone!
Registration night will take place on Friday March 6 from7:30 pm to 9 pm in the following venues, Ballyfin Community Center,The Rock GAA Clubhouse and Rosenallis GAA Clubhouse.
Well done to all our musicians who played at the Launch of the Drama Festival. We have a number of events coming up. We will be taking part in St Patricks Day Festivities. Then on March 27th we hold our Annual Concert. Keep the date in your diary!
Well done to our Scór team of Sean Doyle, Liadan C-Fennell, Jack Corr and Paul Maher who took part in Scór na nOg recently. It was a very tough competiton and they performed very well. Remember Scór na Paisti will take place in Mountmellick in April. All our members in Primary School are welcome to take part in Music, Singing, Dance, Telling a story or even a little drama. There was widespread sadness at the death of Thomas Anslem O’Loughlin, Kilminchy, Portlaoise and formerly of Rosenallis, Rosenallis, Carlow, IFA and Greenvale, on Friday February 27, following a short illness.
Pre-deceased by Geraldine, Tom will be sadly missed by Keith, Barry, Jean, Kevin, Paul, his wife Lyndsey, Colette, Aoife, Lisa, Alma, Mia, Jill, Ella, Eoin, Simon, Alex, Harry & Rian. His mother Sara and siblings Michael, Larry, Declan, Patricia, Carmel and Deirdre.
Remains reposed on Friday in The Chapel Of Rest at Portlaoise hospital, with removal to SS Peter and Pauls Church Portlaoise on Saturday, and Funeral Mass on Sunday at 2pm, followed by burial in SS Peter and Pauls cemetery.
May Tom Rest in Peace.
