St Clare’s Hospitality

Volunteers made their last delivery of food parcels last Wednesday. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in the food parcels, those who donated money and food, those who packed the parcels every Tuesday and those who delivered over 190 parcels every Wednesday for the past 18 months. We now wish to announce the opening of our new Food Kitchen on next Wednesday, May 13. The address of ‘The Kitchen’ is The Waterfront, Mill Lane, Carlow. Initially the opening hours will be from 12.30pm-3.30pm from Monday to Friday where a hot lunch will be served. Lunches are free but a donation box will be available should anyone wish to donate. St Clare’s Hospitality is funded completely by donations and run completely by volunteers. 100% of all donations go directly to helping local people in need. We are extremely grateful to everyone who donates their time and/or money to this cause. Non perishable food (e.g. tinned peas/beans, tinned fruit, soups etc) can still be left in the barrels in our churches or parish centre.

Novena

The sixth week of our Solemn Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help continues this Monday night 18th May at 7.30pm in St Clare’s Church. The theme for this year’s Novena is “Knowing Jesus” Our guest speaker this week is Mary Cahill. Mary is a Lay Chaplain Pastoral Care Worker in the Bon Secours Hospital in Tralee.

Lough Derg Pilgrimage

Ceremony of Light ceremony and reconciliation service for the children of Killeshin N.S and their families will be held on this Tuesday 12th May at 7.30pm in Holy Cross and on Wednesday 13th May at 7.30pm in St Clare’s Church for the children of St Fiacc’s N.S and their families.

Lourdes Invalid Fund

The Committee wish to thank everyone involved in the running of our recent Fashion Show in aid of Graiguecullen/Killeshin Lourdes Invalid Fund. A fantastic night was had by all and a total of €4,790 was raised for the fund. A big thank you especially to all our models young and old and all those who did the work backstage. Thanks also to Breda Keating who raised €600 from a recent collection day at Rath’s Store.

St Patrick’s Boys FC

This year the club celebrates its 40th Anniversary and we are calling on all players past and present to contact us. There will be a club dinner dance on 6th June and you can get tickets from Fran at the club.

The Eist Cancer Support Centre is open: Tues to Thurs from 9.30am to 4pm.
