The second of the 4 Month Draws in aid of Knockaroo Church Renovation Fund took place on Friday night May 25 in St Canice’s Hall. The lucky winners were as follows: 1st prize €1000 Paul Davey, Milltown Garden Centre, Shinrone, (seller Liz Treacy ), 2nd prize €300 Emer Dunne, Borris in Ossory (seller Nan Dunne), 3rd prize €100 Jimmy Quinlan, Shanboe (seller Tommy Whelan), promoters prize Sheila Ryan, Borris in Ossory . Thanks to all who supported this fundraiser and thanks also to all the promoters who sold the tickets.

The next draw will take place on Friday June 29 in St Canice’s Parish Hall, Borris in Ossory.


Borris in Ossory ICA guild’s weekend away this year will from Sunday July 29 to Wednesday August 1 and the venue will be Belfast. Staying at a four star hotel, the trip will include a visit to the Titanic Exhibition and the sights of Belfast. There will also be a day spent touring the Antrim coast and a visit to the city of Armagh. Names and deposits of €100 should be given to Lily Sheeran (0505-41308) as soon as possible.


The Borris in Ossory Women’s Walking Group thank all those who baked and bought items and made donations at their recent cake sale in aid of 2 ICU Wards in Beaumont. Guess the name of the doll competition was won by Éadaoin Foyle, guessing correctly ‘Lillie’ as name of the doll sponsored by Ed Mulhall. Guess the amount of sweets in the jar was won by Michelle Foyle guessing 106. Thanks to St Joseph’s school for the use of their PE hall.

Rosie O Gradys are having a BBQ on Sunday June 3 from 6pm. All donations are going to 2 ICU Wards in Beaumont hospital, the BIO Women’s Walking Groups chosen 2012 charity. Please support. There will be music and craic on the day raising funds for this great cause.

The Walkers wine ‘n’ dine hamper is currently on display in Rosie O Gradys, tickets are €2 each or 3 for €5. The hamper will be raffled on Monday June 4 in Kelly’s bar.
