All set for St Peter’s annual summer fete

Phyllis Clegg and Anne Dennehy make some final preparations for the upcoming St Peters Garden Fete.
Final preparations are under way for the annual St Peter’s Garden Fete, which will take place on Sunday, July 28 at Chestnut Grove, Borris Road, Portlaoise (opposite Forest Park) from 2 pm until late.

Final preparations are under way for the annual St Peter’s Garden Fete, which will take place on Sunday, July 28 at Chestnut Grove, Borris Road, Portlaoise (opposite Forest Park) from 2 pm until late.

The parishioners have even more fun family games, stalls and attractions planned for this year’s Fete. Particular attention is being given to the needs of families, with a special family and games area, as well as family picnic packs for sale. Children will also love the Bouncy Castle and the Face Painting.

“We are very excited about the new games and the family focus,” says organiser Phyllis Clegg, “It’s all designed for everyone to have a wonderful day out – young and old.”

Among the other games featured will be Wheel of Fortune, Sponge Throw, Ring Toss, Lucky Dip, Guess How Many Sticks, Guess How Much Is In the Piggy Bank and more. There will also be many stalls planned live music by Solitaire. The winners of the St. Peter’s Primary School Art Competition will be revealed, as well as the winners of the Monster Draw and the Gate Raffle.

Entry is €2 per adult with free entry for children.
